If you haven’t already, submit your application. An expert Advisor will call you to conduct a phone interview and assist you in choosing the certification area(s) that best match your skills and interests.
Send your official transcripts to Alabama Teachers, either by mail or by eSCRIP-SAFE (if offered by your institution), as soon as you submit your application.
To be eligible for admission, you will need to pass the Praxis Subject Assessment Exam (content test) for the appropriate certification area. Our expert Advisors can guide you through this process.
Prepare yourself for the classroom online, at your own pace. To get started, you will log into your training and begin Module 1: The Foundations of Learning.
Begin looking for teaching positions immediately upon receiving your Letter of Eligibility. Use our job search resources to help you prepare – submit your resume for review, attend our webinars, follow our guide to preparing your portfolio, and practice interviewing using our sample questions.
Start your first year teaching with full support. Once you are hired, you will begin teaching with full pay and full benefits. You will receive guidance from your district-assigned mentor. Alabama Teachers’ Advisors are also always available to help provide clarity on next required steps.
You will be expected to finish certain modules by the end of each academic year to remain in good standing.
