During this first year, you will lead your own classroom as a full-time teacher. Your district-assigned on-campus mentor will provide support and answer questions.
During the first year of teaching, teacher candidates will perform observations of another teacher’s classroom or online. In order to start teaching, it is required that they do 9 hours of this.

As you gain classroom experience, you will continue your online training modules, at your own pace, working to meet yearly completion goals.
Upon successful completion of the requirements and necessary in-classroom teaching experience, you will receive your Professional Certificate and become fully certified to teach in the state of Arizona!
Most candidates of Arizona Teachers of Tomorrow are able to complete the course in 1-3 months. However, due to the self-paced nature of the program, the length it takes to complete is up to you. There’s no need to worry about missing a due date or deadline either! The flexibility of this program allows you to do what’s best for your schedule.
In order to become a teacher in Arizona, individuals must have obtained their bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. They must also complete a teacher certification program. This can come in the form of a traditional program, or an alternative teacher certification program like Arizona Teachers of Tomorrow. Teachers of Tomorrow provides you with all of the information you need to become a certified teacher in Arizona, as well as, a supportive online community and studying resources.
Yes, you can become a high school teacher through this program. Individuals can gain certification in a variety of areas for grades 9-12. Secondary education certification areas can be found together under the “Secondary Education (Grades 6-12)” section here.
