By unanimous decision today, the Arizona State School Board approved the Arizona Teachers of Tomorrow program as the newest educator preparation program in Arizona. The approval comes after a full review by the subcommittee on educator preparation and a full recommendation for acceptance.
This makes the 7th state to accept the Teachers of Tomorrow program in just 18 months since the program began expansion. “We believe that every child deserves a great teacher and Arizona teachers shortages are well documented.” stated Vernon Reaser, CEO of Teachers of Tomorrow. “We will immediately start working with school districts to fully understand their need and ensure we can meet that need.”
The program already has 25 people who are interested in becoming teachers in Arizona through the online program. Career changers and others who wished to become a teacher in Arizona can call our new advisor who will help them work through the process of earning an Arizona teacher certificate.
The program is initially only approved in elementary but will be adding secondary by April 2018 if all goes as planned with the application. “To expand into 6 new states in just 18 months is unprecedented and just a great statement on the quality of the program and the people who work every day at Teachers of Tomorrow.” stated Dave Saba, Chief Development Officer for Teachers of Tomorrow.
The program is now accepting applicants to teach in Arizona!
