Teachers of Tomorrow is approved by the Michigan Department of Education to offer certification programs for Pre K – 3rd and 3rd – 6th grade bands. We are no longer admitting candidates for the K-5 certification area. If you are working toward adding an endorsement area to your certificate, you must fulfill the minimum amount of time taught. You can meet this requirement by teaching full-time or part-time.
IMPORTANT: If you are pursuing multiple endorsement areas, you must meet the time-taught requirement per endorsement area.
I DID NOT EARN MY CERTIFICATION THROUGH MICHIGAN TEACHERS; CAN I STILL ADD AN ENDORSEMENT AREA?

It is possible, but please be keep in mind that if you have already begun teaching, you may be required to restart your time-taught to earn your Certificate. Please contact a Michigan Teachers Advisor for more details.

HOW MANY ENDORSEMENT AREAS AM I ALLOWED TO ADD?
Michigan Teachers allows you to add multiple endorsement areas! While we have no limit on how many you may add, it’s important to keep in mind that if you add multiple endorsements, you must meet the minimum time-taught requirement (60 days) per endorsement area.

Endorsement Areas are the subjects for which one is qualified to teach in the state of Michigan.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A TEACHING CERTIFICATE AND ENDORSEMENT AREAS?
A Teaching Certificate is a document that is awarded to all teachers to demonstrate that you are qualified to teach in Michigan. Endorsement Areas are specified on your teaching certificate to show which subjects you are qualified to teach. You may add multiple endorsement areas to one certificate.
