All teacher candidates are required to take the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC). The specific test you take is determined by which endorsement area(s) you are pursuing.

PRO TIP: If you want to teach grades 6-8, you can take the secondary certification test OR the elementary (lower or upper) certification test + a subject add-on test.

First Aid and Adult & Pediatric CPR Certificates*
The Michigan Department of Education no longer requires that you obtain a CPR and First Aid Certificate. However if the school or district you are hired to teaching requires it, we have provided a list of approved providers below.
