Steps to Submit Form

You should submit your "I Got a Job" form immediately after you are offered employment. This will let us know that you are ready for approval to be issued your Intern Certificate!

Login to Intern Portal

To get started, you will first login to your Intern Portal. Click the red button below to get started now.

Select “Employment”

Once you have logged into your Intern Portal, use the drop-down menu on the top, left-hand corner of the page. Select the fourth option, “Employment.” When you click on the “Employment” tab, you will automatically be directed to a new page.

Complete Required Fields

After you have opened the “Employment” page in your Intern Portal, select the blue button that says, “Add Employment.” Clicking on this button will populate the short “I Got a Job” form! Please fill in all fields marked with an asterisk (*).

Submit Form

Once you have completed all required fields, select the blue button at the bottom on the form that says, “Submit Employment.” After you submit your “I Got a Job” form, the status will show as Pending. Once processed and approved, your status will change to Approved.

Submitting your form will let us know you’re ready to receive the next steps to complete, so we can recommend you for your Intern Certificate and begin teaching! After you submit the form, check your email for the final steps. Your school district’s HR department will need to complete and return your Statement of Eligibility (SOE), which will be available for download in your Intern Portal. Once all steps are complete, you will receive an email confirmation that your Intern Certificate has been recommended by Texas Teachers with TEA.

Before submitting your “I Got a Job” form, you must have applied for your Intern Certificate (you can pay for it after you formally accept your job offer), and have paid to submit your fingerprints to undergo a background check.

Please note: You must have been offered and accepted a position as the full-time teacher of record (at least 4 hours per day in your chosen certification area).

It is extremely important to submit your “I Got a Job” form immediately after you have either verbally accepted a job offer or have signed a contract.

If you fail to submit your “I Got a Job” form, the issuance of your Intern Certificate could be delayed and therefore jeopardize your employment offer.

You should only submit the “I Got a Job” form if you intend to accept an employment offer. If your circumstances change and your previous job offer is rescinded, or you choose to accept a new job offer, you may submit a new form.

Please note: If your prior form is still pending, please remove the record so the incorrect information is not processed. 

After you have submitted your “I Got a Job” form, please allow our dedicated team adequate time to process and approve your form. If you submit a form during peak months (June-September), the processing time will take longer. As soon as your form has been processed and approved, the status will change from Pending to Approved.

In the rare event that your “I Got a Job” form is not approved, you will receive an email notification. Please respond to the email for your next steps.

Please list the school year date associated with the teaching position you have accepted. Even if you are already currently working as a paraprofessional, a substitute teacher, or an aide, please only list the new start date for when you will begin working as the full-time teacher of record.

If your employment status is already marked as Approved in your Intern Portal, this means our dedicated team has already processed your ‘I Got a Job’ form on your behalf! To proceed, please check your email for the next steps.

No, please only submit your “I Got a Job” form when you accept a position as a full-time teacher of record (at least 4 hours per day in your chosen certification area). Substitute positions, including long-term, aide positions, and paraprofessional assignments do not fulfill your one-year internship program requirements.
