Get Ready to Get Hired This August!


Right now is the perfect time to start our program and complete the requirements to start your dream job this fall. If you’re ready to become a teacher in North Carolina, just follow the steps below.

Steps to Complete Training

If you haven’t already, submit your application. A Program Advisor will call you to conduct a phone interview and assist you in choosing the licensure area(s) that best match your skills and interests.

Send your official transcripts to North Carolina Teachers either by mail or by eSCRIP-SAFE (if offered by your institution) as soon as you submit your application.

Check your email for receipt of your Offer of Admission. Click the link in the email to accept your admission offer, and then pay your enrollment fee. Once payment is made you will receive a Canvas training login in your email.

Start your training right away. Once your enrollment fee is paid, begin the Preparing for the Profession module of your Classroom Readiness Training. IMPORTANT: While your online training is important, you are NOT currently required to complete it before getting hired for the 2020-2021 school year! Learn more.

Steps to Get Hired

Prepare to pass your licensure exam(s). Make sure you have chosen a desirable subject area to help you get hired. You will pass the Praxis II Exam for your chosen grade level and additional Pearson testing if applicable. Our free study resources give you that extra boost. IMPORTANT: Due to COVID-19 allowances, you are NOT currently required to pass your exam prior to getting hired for the 2020-2021 school year. Learn more.

Begin looking for teaching positions immediately after enrolling and receiving your Form RL. Use our job search resources to help you prepare – submit your resume for review, watch our seminar, attend our webinars, follow our guide to preparing your portfolio, and practice interviewing using our sample questions. When you get hired, let us know! We will partner with your employing school system to submit a request through the NC Department of Instruction (NCDPI) for issuance of the Residency License. You will also complete and pay for the application through the NCDPI at this time.

Start your first year teaching with full support. Once you are hired, you will begin teaching with full pay, full benefits, and full support. You receive guidance from your North Carolina Teachers Field Supervisor, an experienced educator who will visit your classroom 3 times throughout the year and is always on-call to answer your questions.
