Building on Learning in the Classroom

Once you’re hired and begin teaching on the probationary certificate, you will immediately begin your Internship Projects. These are activities facilitated through your Intern Portal designed to meet new state rules for additional training. Your internship projects focus on practical applications of skills to use in your classroom throughout your internship year. Texas Teachers is proud to offer you this innovative support and deliver it in a manner that is both flexible and useful.

There are no individual deadlines or time constraints; you’ll simply start the activities once you begin teaching and finish within six months. Log in to get the directions and then do the projects when they fit into your lifestyle and teaching schedule.

You will find the projects interesting and relevant as you start your new career. Each project was developed by major Texas school district administrators and leading educational trainers with the concept of providing new teachers with beneficial tools and support for their first year in the classroom. The projects are specifically tailored to follow the challenges and duties every first year teacher has to handle, from setting up your classroom, to making lesson plans and dealing with parents.

We will notify you via e-mail once you’ve been given access to your Internship Projects.
