The Indiana Department of Education is reporting theirs tomorrow but listed the shortage areas yesterday to the press.\u00a0 According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chalkbeat.org\/posts\/in\/2019\/04\/23\/here-are-indianas-subject-areas-with-the-greatest-teacher-shortages\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chalkbeat<\/a>, teacher shortages continue to get worse.<\/p>\n<p>According to a statement from State School Superintendent Jennifer McCormick &#8211; \u201cUnfortunately, this shortage continues to spill into areas not only critical to Indiana\u2019s educational plan, but areas that prepare our students for a bright future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the list of Indiana\u2019s submitted teacher shortage areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Business<\/li>\n<li>Computer Education<\/li>\n<li>Computer Science<\/li>\n<li>CTE Licensure Areas (all)<\/li>\n<li>Early Childhood Education<\/li>\n<li>Exceptional Needs (all)<\/li>\n<li>Fine Arts: Instrumental and General Music<\/li>\n<li>Fine Arts: Vocal and General Music<\/li>\n<li>Mathematics<\/li>\n<li>Science (all)<\/li>\n<li>Secondary Language Arts<\/li>\n<li>Technology Education<\/li>\n<li>Teachers of English Learners<\/li>\n<li>World Languages (all)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These are the very areas that Indiana&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teachersoftomorrow.org\/indiana\/become-a-teacher\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Transition to Teaching<\/a> program was created to address.\u00a0 So if you are ready to help by becoming an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teachersoftomorrow.org\/indiana\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Indiana Teacher<\/a> &#8211; please reach out today!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Every state must report their teacher shortages to the federal government each year.
