{"id":46879,"date":"2019-06-10T19:13:51","date_gmt":"2019-06-11T00:13:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.teachersoftomorrow.org\/?p=46879"},"modified":"2024-10-26T19:14:24","modified_gmt":"2024-10-27T00:14:24","slug":"amended-general-knowledge-test-gkt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.teachersoftomorrow.org\/blog\/insights\/amended-general-knowledge-test-gkt\/","title":{"rendered":"Amended General Knowledge Test \u2013 GKT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><u>Amended General Knowledge Test Requirements GKT<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As a Result of Senate Bill 7070, there have been amendments to the General Knowledge Test (GKT) Requirements effective May 9, 2019. This bill has removed the 1 year requirement for the GKT, which required teachers to pass all four parts during the first year of teaching on their Temporary Certificate or they would lose their job.<\/p>\n<p>So what does this mean for you?<\/p>\n<p>This means the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You now have the full\u00a0<strong><u>3 years<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0on your Temporary Certificate to pass the General Knowledge Test.<\/li>\n<li>This new rule applies to those who currently have a valid Temporary Certificate.
