Texas Teachers announces the launch of Teachers of Tomorrow to expand its teacher certification program throughout the United States. Dave Saba has been hired to lead the national expansion effort as the Chief Development Officer. Saba was an early pioneer in alternative certification, bringing new routes to the classroom in ten states.

“Our program has been an integral part of district recruitment plans in Texas – we supply over 6,000 certified teachers annually to our partner schools. With teacher shortages reaching critical levels in many states, it was the logical next step for our organization to expand throughout the country,” stated Vernon Reaser, CEO and Founder of Teachers of Tomorrow.

Nationwide, enrollments in colleges of education have declined. The National Education Association recently reported the percentage of college students majoring in education has declined from 9.9% to 4.2% over the last ten years. At the same time, school districts are seeing an increase in retirements, student enrollment and the need for STEM, Special Education and bilingual teachers. Teachers of Tomorrow has the infrastructure, expertise and proven record to help fill teacher vacancies with highly-qualified individuals who want to serve their communities in the classroom.

“Schools are seeing a crippling shortage of teacher talent. It will take the concerted efforts of high-quality programs like Teachers of Tomorrow to ensure every student has a teacher who underwent extensive training and preparation for the classroom. I am incredibly excited to join this amazing team in helping schools across the country increase the pipeline of qualified teachers,” said Dave Saba.

Saba and the Teachers of Tomorrow team are already meeting with education leaders in multiple states to focus on bringing the program to regions of the country with the highest need. The Teachers of Tomorrow website, teachersoftomorrow.org has launched and the site’s blog tracks the country’s teacher shortages.

About Teachers of Tomorrow

Teachers of Tomorrow began as Texas Teachers of Tomorrow in 2005 to create a teacher certification route that met the talent needs of Texas school districts. Over the last 11 years, Texas Teachers has certified over 35,000 teachers. The program is focused on providing the pedagogy and support teachers need to succeed in the classroom. The program also creates a more diverse teacher workforce as 46% of teachers enrolled are non-white. For more information, visit teachersoftomorrow.org.

Texas Teachers announces the launch of Teachers of Tomorrow to expand its teacher certification program throughout the United States. Dave Saba has been hired to lead the national expansion effort …

[25,2891
2892,2893,23,29,2894,28
post-975","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-press-releases","category-test-preparation","tag-teacher-scholarships","tag-teacher-scholarships-texas","tag-teacher-shortage","tag-teachers-of-tomorrow","tag-texas-scholarships","tag-texas-teachers
"publishpress_future_workflow_manual_trigger":
